Bangor is a city in Gwynedd, North Wales. Local institutions include its cathedral and university.

A E Dyson was lecturing in Bangor from 1955.

In 1979 the Bangor W H Smith branch was picketed to protest at the firm's refusal to sell Gay News.^[1]

Unity Bangor is the local students LGBTQ+ society.

The Three Crowns has been a gay pub since 2003^[2]
