Bournemouth CHE Group was a CHE group for [[Bournemouth and the surrounding area. It was originally set up in October 1971 as South West Hants CHE Group (also known as South Hants CHE Group). It was recognised as a CHE group in December that year.[1]
In 1971, "South West Hants" would have included Bournemouth and Christchurch, which were transferred from Hampshire to Dorset in 1974. The group was renamed "Southampton/Bournemouth CHE" and at some point separated into separate Bournemouth and Southampton groups.
