The Gay Activists Alliance International (GAAI) was an LGBT campaigning group with an address in Oxford.[1] It was founded in 2008, and was a member of ILGA[2] and a former member of the LGBT Consortium.[1] A much earlier group called the Gay Activists Alliance was a separate set up in the late 1970s and early 1980s.In 2010, the co-ordinators of the former Gay Activists Alliance International founded the International Gender and Sexuality Alliance.[3]
The organisation's name recalls the original Gay Activists Alliance in New York. An offshoot from GLF, it existed from 1969 to 1981.[4]
