South West Hants CHE Group (also known as South Hants CHE Group) was founded in October 1971. It was recognised as a CHE group in December that year.[1]
In 1971, "South West Hants" would have included Bournemouth and Christchurch, which were transferred from Hampshire to Dorset in 1974. The group was renamed "Southampton/Bournemouth CHE" and at some point separated into separate Bournemouth and Southampton groups.
