Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 2006
From LGBT Archive
The Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 2006 was an Act of Tynwald (the Manx parliament) which reduced the age of consent for gay sex from 18 to 16 in the Isle of Man, bringing it into line with England and Wales and with Scotland. This equalised the age of consent for gay and straight couples, as required by the European Convention on Human rights.[1] The Act also repealed Section 38 of the Sexual Offences Act 1992 (the Manx equivalent of Section 28).
