Tris Reid-Smith is a journalist, the founder and editor of Gay Star News.

While studying psychology at Reading University he helped to edit the student newspaper. On graduating he spent a year travelling around the world, then worked at the Wokingham Times and Reading Evening Post. In 2000 he moved to London to work for the Pink Paper, becoming editor ten months later. In 2005 he arranged the sale of the Pink Paper to Millivres Prowler Group (MPG) and later became group editor-in-chief for MPG, in charge of GT and the group's other publications.[1]

In 2011 he left MPG, and set up Gay Star News with his partner Scott Nunn.
