South Wales is an area of Wales, generally considered to comprise the historic counties of Glamorgan and Monmouthshire. Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire are sometimes considered to be part of South Wales, but more often referred to as West Wales.
South Wales Police roughly covers the Glamorgan area, Monmouthshire being covered by Gwent Police.
