Newcastle upon Tyne is a city and metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear. it was once one of the world's largest shipbuilding and ship-repairing centres.

LGBT History

Newcastle GLF was listed in Gay News issue 1.

MCC Newcastle is the local branch of the Metropolitan Community Church. It was founded in 1991.

The Newcastle Ravens is a gay inclusive rugby team; it organises the Hadrian Cup competition.

The Newcastle Panthers is a gay football team.

Nick Forbes is leader of Newcastle City Council.

Northern Pride is a voluntary organisation supporting Newcastle Pride.

There is a thriving gay scene in the "Pink Triangle".[1]

NE Gayscene has a page of information about Newcatle.[2]
