Lambeth is a London Borough in Central London, south of the Thames. It was formed in 1965 by combining the metropolitan borough of Lambeth with part of the metropolitan borough of Wandsworth.Districts within the Borough include Brixton, Streatham, Vauxhall, Clapham and West Norwood, plus the South Bank Arts Centre.
Notable landmarks on or near the South Bank include the London Eye, the Royal Festival Hall, and Waterloo Station.
Lambeth Palace is the London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
LGBT history
Linda Bellos was Leader of Lambeth Council from 1986 to 1988; Steve Reed was Leader from 2006 to 2012.
Lambeth LGBT Forum (now apparently defunct) met monthly in the Town Hall, Brixton.[1]
A new Lambeth LGBT+ Network was set up in 2015.
