Basildon is the name of a town in Essex. The local government district of the same name (a borough since 1910) contains the towns of Billericay and Wickford as well as Basildon itself.and also of the local government district that contains it.
LGBT history
There was a Basildon CHE Group in 1973 and again from 1978 onwards.
The actor Russell Tovey was brought up in Billericay, and the former Labour Party campaign organiser Lord Livermore was brought up in Wickford.
