Eastleigh is a town in Hampshire and also the local government district that contains the town.LGBT history
In the Eastleigh by-election of 2013, the Conservative candidate, Maria Hutchings, failed to take the seat from the Liberal Democrats, and was forced into third place behind UKIP. Some commentators blamed the Conservatives' poor showing on the Prime Minster's support for equal marriage, even though Ms Hutchings had said she was personally opposed to it.[1]
