Purley is a suburban district in South London. It was formerly in Surrey, but since 1965 it has been part of the London Borough of Croydon.
LGBT history
Georgina Somerset was born in Purley in 1923, and Derren Brown 1971.
Croydon Area Gay Society has held garden parties in a member's garden in Purley in conjunction with SLAGO.[1]
