Matthew Ogston

Matthew Ogston set up the Naz and Matt Foundation after his fiancé, Nazim, took his own life in 2014. They had been together for 13 years, but Naz killed himself two days after his religious family confronted him about his sexuality. The purpose of the foundation is to tackle homophobia triggered by religion to help parents accept their children.[1]
The Naz and Matt Foundation was announced at a special service held in London for Nazim, two weeks after his funeral. The service featured contributions from a gay Muslim, gay Hindu, a gay vicar, a trainee Rabbi and a lesbian interfaith minister.[2]
Matthew was listed number 6 in the Rainbow List 2015.[3]
