The Proud Trust (formerly LGBT Youth North West) is a regional organisation supporting LGBT young people and LGBT Youth organisations in the North West of England.
"The Proud Trust can trace its roots back to the 1970’s and the Gay Youth Group that met in Manchester at Waterloo Place, then Bloom Street and from 1989, Sidney Street purpose built Gay Centre."[1]

The group appears to have been called Lesbian & Gay Youth Manchester (LGYM) at one time.[2]

The Organisation became a Company Limited by Guarantee in 2005 after extensive consultation with LGBT young people and youth workers across the North West.

The organisation is made up of existing LGBT Youth providers across the region covering Greater Manchester, Greater Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria.

In 2015 LGBT Youth North West changed its name to The Proud Trust.[1]

Controversy surrounds the promotion of trans and non binary education for primary school age children as part of the Proud Trust education resources [3].

It is a member of ILGA and affiliated to CHE.
