(Redirected from Edith Lees Ellis)
Edith Lees (1861–1916) was a British writer and women's rights activist, and the wife of the sexologist Havelock Ellis. She wrote several novels, and a biography of the surgeon James Hinton.
Edith Lees married Havelock Ellis in 1891, but their marriage was unconventional. Lees was lesbian, and had several affairs with women, which her husband was aware of.[1] He is said to have based his description of lesbians in his books largely upon her.
