The Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act, 1993 was an act of the Irish Parliament, which decriminalised male homosexual acts in the Irish Republic, with an age of consent of 17, the same as for heterosexual intercourse, overturning laws that had been passed by the United Kingdom parliament in the 19th century.
