Body Positive was a support group for people who were HIV-positive but healthy. It was founded in 1985 by Jonathan Grimshaw and provided a telephone helpline, counselling and hospital visits, and eventually 43 local groups.[1]

Body Positive closed in 2000 as a result of reduced funding. Some members of the London Gay Men's Group continued meeting in a pub, a transfer of running the Gay Men’s Group was eventually agreed with the Terrence Higgins Trust, which continued until the end of March 2008, when funding again disappeared and the Body Positive Gay Men’s Group became independent.[2]
