Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS) is a condition in which a person has XY chromosomes, and would therefore normally be a man, but the body fails to respond to male hormones, and the person thus develops as an "XY woman".

Sarah Graham has written of her own experiences with AIS.

There is an Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome Support Group (AISSG).[1]
