Christ Church, Oxford is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford. Its chapel also serves as Oxford Cathedral, and the Dean of the Cathedral is ex officio the head of the College. It was founded in 1525, as Cardinal College, by Cardinal Wolsey, and re-founded in 1532 after Wolsey's death by Henry VIII. Henry re-founded it again in 1546, under its present name, as part of the reorganisation of the English church following the reformation.
