Secret Opera, founded 2011, is s an innovative opera company with an unique and defined LGBT Gender Project.

Its aims include:[1]

  • challenging stereotypes by casting according to vocal suitability rather than gender
  • recognising the place of LGBT relationships in history and culture
  • casting operating heterosexual relationships as homosexual or lesbian.
