John Nicolson (born 1961) is a former television presenter and SNP politician. He was elected as MP for East Dunbartonshire in the 2015 general election. He lost his seat at the 2017 General Election. However at the 2019 General Election he was elected as SNP member for Ochil and South Perthshire winning the seat on a 7% swing from the Conservative member Luke Graham. The seat was abolished in 2024.

He was born in Glasgow and studied at Glasgow University and in the United States. He has been a presenter with both BBC and ITV, living in Spitalfields with his partner, Luis.[1]

In 2020 Nicolson tried to get LGBAlliance's Fund raising pages taken down [2]. Nicolson has frequently attacked the LGBAlliance and he was very critical of the judgement against Mermaids in July 2023 [3]. Nicolson told the court in the case brought by Mermaids that ‘you are a lesbian if you declare yourself one’ [4]
