Batley is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire.LGBT history
Keegan Hirst, captain of the Batley Bulldogs rugby team, was the first Rugby League player to come out as gay.[1] Batley and Spen is the parliamentary constituency. Member of Parliament Kim Leadbetter was elected at a by-election in July 2021. Leadbetter is openly lesbian and lives with her partner Clare.
