Ayrshire is a former county in Scotland. In 1975 it was included within the Strathclyde region. In 1996 it was divided into three council areas: East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire and South Ayrshire.LGBT history
Actor and comedian John Sessions (1953-2020) was born John Gibbs Marshall in Largs, Ayrshire [1]. Ayrshire LGBT was set up in 2013 as a group for the gay community of Ayrshire.[2]
