John Sessions

John Sessions was an actor and comedian. He was born 11 Jan 1953 as John Gibbs Marshall in Largs, Ayrshire. His father was a protestant and his mother a catholic. His mother was ostracised by her family when she got married. Sessions changed his name when he discovered that there was already a John Marshall in Equity. Sessions enjoyed a breakthrough in 1987 appearing in Porterhouse Blues, a Channel 4 series. He was Ted Heath in the Iron Lady (2011) and Geoffrey Howe in bio-drama Margaret (2009. Sessions disclosed that he was gay in 1994. In later life he lived in East Putney.
