Blackpool tower and the beach
Blackpool is a seaside town in the north east of England. It is a unitary authority, within the ceremonial county of Lancashire. It is noted for its tower (half the size of the Eiffel Tower) and for the Illuminations, which prolong its holiday season into the autumn.

LGBT history

Blackpool has long been a popular destination for gay holidaymakers.

There was a Blackpool CHE group in the 1970s.

There is a Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre LGBT Forum[1]

Blackpool Pride has been held since 2006.[2]

Astabgay has listings of the local gay scene.[3]

Liberty Church, Blackpool is an LGBT-inclusive church, working with Metropolitan Community Church, Manchester.[4]
