Location of Denbighshire within Wales
Denbighshire (Welsh: Sir Ddinbych) is a county in north-east Wales. The original county of Denbighshire was abolished in 2974, when the area became part of the county of Clwyd. The current county was formed in 1996, but its borders are substantially different from the original county of the same name. The largest towns are the seaside resorts of Rhyl and Prestatyn. Other towns include Denbigh, Ruthin, and Llangollen, and the city of St Asaph.
