Jim Edgell (1936–2005) was Chairman of the Tunbridge Wells CHE Group from 1975 onwards, and also co-ordinator of the West Kent Befriending Group.. He later moved to Bedford where he was one of the founders of the Bedford Gay Help Line and an effective presenter of the gay cause on local radio. he was a member of the CHE National Executive for many years.
