Bedford is a borough and unitary authority within the ceremonial county of Bedfordshire. As well as the town of Beford proper, the Borough includes Kempton and a surrounding rural area. The district was created in 1974 and initially called North Bedfordshire. It became a unitary authority in 2009.LGBT history
There was a Bedford CHE group in the 1970s.
