Secret Opera logo
Secret Opera, founded 2011, is an innovative opera company with an unique and defined LGBT Gender Project.

It is based at St Anne's Church, Hoxton.

Its aims include:[1]

  • challenging stereotypes by casting according to vocal suitability rather than gender
  • recognising the place of LGBT relationships in history and culture
  • casting operating heterosexual relationships as homosexual or lesbian.
