Portsmouth CHE Group was founded in Portsmouth in June 1972, and was recognised as a CHE group in November 1972. It was formed from South West Hants CHE Group.[1] In September 1982 a new Portsmouth CHE group was formed as a breakaway from the Portsmouth Gay Community Society. The CHE group held meetings in the Central Library [2].
