Alderney is one of the Channel Islands, part of the Bailiwick of Guernsey. It should not be confused with the suburb of Poole, Dorset, with the same name.
LGBT history
T H White lived on Alderney from 1946 to his death in 1964.
In 2006, a local hotel owner, Adrian Leopard, accused the island of persecuting him because he is gay.[1]
