Secret Opera, founded 2011, is an innovative opera company with an unique and defined LGBT Gender Project.It is based at St Anne's Church, Hoxton.
Its aims include:[1]
- challenging stereotypes by casting according to vocal suitability rather than gender
- recognising the place of LGBT relationships in history and culture
- casting operating heterosexual relationships as homosexual or lesbian.
