East Ayrshire is a council area in Scotland. It was created in 1996, replacing two districts (Kilmarnock and Loudon, and Cmnock and Doon Valley) in the former Strathclyde region. The largest town is Kilmarnock.LGBT history
The painter Robert Colquhoun was born in Kilmarnock in 1914.
In November 2009 East Ayrshire Cxuncil's Community Learning and Development Service was awarded LGBT Charter Mark status in respect of LGBT people.[1]
In February 2013, the council, together with East Ayrshire LGBT Youth Group and LGBT Youth Scotland, launched three films made by the peer education group about their experiences as young people.[2]
