Y-Services

A youth service in Hampshire, England which runs youth groups for LGBT young people aged 13-19 years of age. The groups meet in Havant, Fareham, Gosport and Winchester. Y-Services are currently (2019) running a Voices for Heritage Project, capturing the LGBT history of Hampshire. As part of the project young people have interviewed a number of older people who grew up LGBT in the 1960s,70s 80s and 90s. Oral interview recordings have been deposited in the Hampshire Archives in Winchester. In October 2018 the Winchester Group hosted a visit by author Patrick Gale during which an interview was recorded for the project. Richard Kirker has also been interviewed for the project. The recordings are deposited in the Hampshire Archives and Local Studies centre in Winchester.
