The European Parliament is the legislative element within the European Union, meeting in Strasbourg and Brussels. It was founded in 1952, and its members have been directly elected since 1979. There are 766 members, of which 73 represent the United Kingdom.
The LGBT Intergroup is a group of MEPs with an interest in LGBT rights.
