The London County Council was in existence between 1889 and 1965, but covered only a part of the current Greater London area. London is the capital of England and of the United Kingdom. Greater London, comprising 32 London Boroughs plus the City of London, has an estimated population (mid-2009) of 7,753,600.The London County Council was in existence between 1889 and 1965, but covered only a part of the current Greater London area. London Councils is an organisation co-ordinating the work of the various London Boroughs for certain purposes.
Europride was held in London in 1992 and 2006, and will be held there again in 2012, coinciding with WorldPride.
