Dalston, looking south towards the City

Dalston is an area in the London Borough of Hackney. It it is a lively and ethnically mixed area. In 2009 it was described at the coolest place to live in Britain.[1]

LGBT history

Barbara Burford went to school there, and Stephen Fry lived there for a time.

The Dalston Superstore is a well-known gay café bar.
