Location of Caerphilly district within Wales

Caerphilly is a town and local government district (count borough) in South Wales. The town, and part of the current county borough, was historically in Glamorgan but the entire borough is now in the preserved county of Gwent. Caerphilly is known for its castle and its cheese.

LGBT history

The singer Steve Strange was born in Newbridge in 1959.

Ron Davies was MP, and subsequently Assembly Member, for Caerphilly.
