Newcastle upon Tyne is a city and metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear. it was once one of the world's largest shipbuilding and ship-repairing centres.

LGBT History

Newcastle GLF was listed in Gay News issue 1.

MCC Newcastle was founded in 1991.

The Newcastle Ravens is a gay inclusive rugby team; it organises the Hadrian Cup competition.

The Newcastle Panthers is a gay football team.

There is an Newcastle branch of the Metropolitan Community Church.

Nick Forbes is leader of Newcastle City Council.

Northern Pride is a voluntary organisation supporting Newcastle Pride.

There is a thriving gay scene in the "Pink Triangle".[1]

NE Gayscene has a page of information about Newcatler[2]

The Outpost Housing Project, based in Newcastle, provides accommodation support and advice to young LGBT people.[3]

The Lost Gay Newcastle group has been set up to record Newcastle's gay past.[4]
