Dumfries and Galloway is a local government district and former region in Scotland. It replaced the counties of Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire (Kirkcudbrightshire and Wigtownshire were together referred to as Galloway).
The Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary was replaced by the Police Service of Scotland in 2013.
