Didsbury is a suburban area of Manchester, on the north bank of the River Mersey, 4.5 miles south of Manchester city centre. It was formerly in Lancashire.
LGBT History
Carol Ann Duffy, the first female Poet Laureate, lives in Didsbury:
- "Now, she lives in the Manchester suburb of Didsbury, where she looks after her daughter Ella’s two spaniels, Lola and Scrumpy, while Ella is finishing her degree in English, education and drama at Cambridge." [1]
A Didsbury Pride event is planned for 2019.
