Chorley is a town and local government district in Lancashire.

LGBT history

The trans comedian Bethany Black comes from Chorley.

The Chorley FM radio station sees the LGBT community as an important part of its target audience. In 2007, Chorley FM won the "Community Service Award" at the National LGBT Health Summit with particular reference to the Breakout Show targeted at the local LGBT community.[1] Other LGBT programmes include In the Pink which plays mainly club music from the LGBT scene.

POUT is a long established group for young people in the Chorley and South Ribble areas who identify as LGBT or are questioning their sexuality or gender identity. Meetings are held in Leyland.[2]
