St Peters House Project (SPH) is a charity based in Redhill providing support services to people living with HIV/AIDS, and their carers, partners and families. SPH operates across Surrey and also provides an HIV support service in West Sussex.
SPH was started by Paul Fricker in 1987. He was inspired to help people diagnosed with HIV and AIDS at that time when there was little understanding and no treatment or support available. He began with a telephone helpline, then expanded support to a “Buddy” system. The goal was a safe haven – a house where comfort and sanctuary would be available to those in need.
