Men's Sexual Health was a sexual health project for gay and bisexual men in the Wiltshire Area, and is now an independent online resource.
It began in the mid-1990s as the Salisbury Gay Men's Health Project. Its publication Coming Out and Staying Out was turned into a website in 1996. Soon afterwards, the project was taken over by Wessex Community Action, the website was much expanded, and the GMHP merged with groups in Swindon and Bath to become Gay Men's Health Wiltshire and Swindon. In 2007 it was renamed Men's Sexual Health and began providing more general health information.[1]
In 2014 it closed for lack of funding.
- "It is with great sadness and regret that today we announce the forthcoming closure of the Men’s Sexual Health service. As of February 28th 2014, Men's Sexual Health will cease to operate due to a lack of available funding."[2]
As Wiltshire & Swindon Men's Sexual Health it was still listed as a member of ILGA in 2016.[3]
In 2015 the website was handed over to Lee Corbin, who had maintained it from the beginning, and Douglas T Newberry. It now run independently.[1]
