Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury is the county town of Shropshire. It lies on the River Severn, which forms a loop around the historic centre of the town.
LGBT history
The Shropshire Rainbow Film Festival takes place every October in Shrewsbury.[1]
LGBT Shrewbury lists LGBT events and organisations in the town.[2]
Chill Out Mondays are held monthly in the Old market Hall in the Square.
In 2013 members of the LGBT community were to join Shrewsbury Carnival for the first time.[3]
Jonathan Cutbill lived in the town up til his death in 2019.
Daniel Kawczynski is MP for Shrewsbury and Atcham.
In 2024 an exhibition at Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery and Shrewsbury Library showed the lives of older LGBT residents of Shropshire, with photographs by Ming de Nasty [4].
