Sarah Waters

Sarah Waters (born 1956) is a Welsh novelist.
She was born in Neyland, Pembrokeshire, went to school in Milford Haven, and received a BA from the University of Kent, an MA from Lancaster University, and a PhD from Queen Mary University of London.
Her first book, Tipping the Velvet (1998), a lesbian romp set in Victorian England, was adapted as a TV series for BBC2.
Sarah Waters was listed as Number 8 in the Pride Power List 2011, number 26 in the Independent on Sunday's Pink List 2010 and under "Lifetime Achievement Award" in the Pink List 2011.
