Unit One Sauna

Entrance to St Margarets flats in 2017
The Unit One Sauna was a well-known sauna in Rottingdean, located in the basement of a block of flats (St Margarets, High Street),[1] between the main cross-roads and the sea.

Its admission policy changed over the years. At one time it had different sessions during the week for men only, women only, and teenagers, respectively, but towards the end it was men-only at all times. The sauna was well known and loved by gay men from a wide area around. Its location meant that it was easy to get to from the A27 without going through Brighton, and it was easy to park. As well as the usual hot sauna, showers and steam room there was a small swimming pool - not often found in smaller establishments. It appears to have closed several years ago, although it can still be found on websites that have not recently been updated.
