Myra DuBois is the stage name of Gareth Joyner, a British drag performer and stand-up comedian originally from Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Self-described as "the Siren from South Yorkshire," she is known for a dry, deadpan comic persona that draws on northern working-class culture and has brought her to mainstream television audiences.

Career

Joyner moved to London in 2008 and began performing as Myra DuBois in burlesque clubs and gay bars. She built a following on the cabaret and comedy circuit before transitioning to television.

In 2020 she appeared as a semi-finalist on Britain's Got Talent (Series 14), where her audition generated significant attention: Boy George praised the performance while Piers Morgan called it "diabolical." The public disagreement between the two judges brought her widespread press coverage.

Her television credits include The John Bishop Show (2015), Big Brother's Bit on the Side, Dom Jolly's Fool Britannia, Richard Osman's House of Games (2023), and The Weakest Link (2023). In 2022 she appeared in Queens for the Night in a mentor role.

In film, she appeared in the adaptation of Everybody's Talking About Jamie (2021). She played Lady von Fistenburg in the West End murder-mystery show Death Drop (2021), and has performed solo shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, including Dead Funny (2021).

She has also appeared in pantomime, including as Carabosse in Sleeping Beauty.

Myra DuBois maintains a prominent presence on social media, particularly Facebook, where she has cultivated a large and devoted following.
