Goslings swimming had its origin in 1976 as an informal gathering of gay swimmers on Mondays at the Oasis Pool in High Holborn. In 1982 that group succeeded in getting a private hire of the pools at the Oasis on Thursday evening.

The group at that time was the London swimming section of the Gay Outdoor Club (GOC). In 1985 the swimming club became independent of GOC and the name Goslings was adopted (as Gay Outdoor Swimming London INGS).

Goslings Badminton Club

The winter of 1986/7 was a particularly vicious one and in February 1987 the Oasis was forced to close both its pools. The Goslings were offered the use of the sports hall at the Oasis and decided to play badminton. This proved to be popular and soon attracted new members and so became a second club activity. In 1994 the badminton section of the Goslings moved to the Swiss Cottage Sports Centre and moved again in 2002 to the Talacre Sports Centre.
