Minister for Women and Equalities

The Minister for Women and Equalities was a UK government post created in 2014. Before that the UK government had an Equalities Minister and a separate Minister for Women. Elizabeth Truss She was appointed Minister for Women and Equalities on 10 September 2019. She was elected as the Conservative MP for south west Norfolk in 2010. she was also appointed Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs on 15 September 2021. In September 2021 Truss announced the appointment of Iain Anderson as the government’s new LGBT Business Champion. Alongside the recently appointed Special Envoy for LGBT rights, Lord Nick Herbert, Anderson will ensure businesses are doing all they can to help showcase the UK as an inclusive place to live and work ahead of the UK’s first Global LGBT Conference, Safe To Be Me, which is taking place in June 2022.
